BIG MAC…and other language changes.

Think of how our language has changed.

For example, a Big Mac used to mean nothing more than an oversized raincoat. Now mention a Big Mac and what do you automatically think of? Yes a hamburger!

There are many more examples.
Sheltered accommodation used to mean somewhere you waited for a bus. Now it most frequently refers to respite centres.

Time sharing meant togetherness, quality time with family. Now it refers to a home in the sun.

Grass was something you mowed. Now it refers to a drug.

A joint was a piece of meat. Today it refers to a drug too.

Pot was a utensil for cooking your vegetables. Today it is a drug too.

Think of our computer jargon:-
A chip was none other than a fried potato;
hardware simply meant bolts and nails;
a mouse was a furry rodent;
a ram was a male sheep;
a cursor was someone who used bad language;
a net was something used for fishing;
logging on was the job of a lumberjack;
a monitor was someone who roamed the corridors during class.
And so on... Today a chip, hardware, a mouse, a ram, a cursor, net, logging on, and a monitor are all computer terms.

We live in a world of change but something never changes -
Yesterday, today and forever Jesus is the same.( Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and for ever) You can rely on Him now and for ever!
Jesus Christ the same
